OTP Generator Demo

Generate secure one-time passwords with configurable length, type, and expiry timer.

How does OTP generation work?

OTP (One-Time Password) generation creates a random, single-use code that is sent to a user\'s phone for authentication. Our demo tool lets you configure the OTP length (4-8 digits), choose between numeric or alphanumeric codes, and set an expiry countdown timer. In production, our OTP API delivers these codes via SMS in under 5 seconds with automatic retry and voice call fallback.

FAQs

What is an OTP generator?

An OTP (One-Time Password) generator creates random, single-use codes for user authentication. This demo tool shows how OTPs are generated with configurable length, expiry timers, and formatting options.

How does OTP delivery work?

When a user requests an OTP, our API generates a random code, sends it via SMS or voice call to the user's phone, and starts an expiry timer. The user enters the code within the time window to verify their identity.

What is the standard OTP expiry time?

Most OTPs expire within 5 minutes (300 seconds). This provides enough time for SMS delivery while maintaining security. You can configure expiry from 1 minute to 24 hours via our API.

Can OTPs be alphanumeric?

Yes, our OTP API supports both numeric (6-digit) and alphanumeric OTPs. Alphanumeric OTPs are more secure but numeric OTPs are easier for users to enter on mobile devices.
